Our client offers a number of learning platforms via the Internet, referred to in short as CFA (Customer Facing Application or formerly Educational Application) in order to be able to use the content of the teaching methods digitally.
To use the content, students (and teachers) must purchase a License. This is done by placing an order for a Product. If a user then actually wants to use the content and accesses it via the CFA, it must be checked whether he has ordered the necessary license for this and that it is still valid.
Recording the orders, converting them into Licenses and validating the existence and validity of the required License is the responsibility of the Distribution & Access system (D&T for short).

Size and composition of the team:
D&T – approx. 7 team members:
Product Owner, Business Analyst, Developers (3x), Service Engineer, Quality Engineer

Function

Role responsibilities:

The D&T team develops and maintains the main system for Distributie & Toegang.

– As QA engineer, you will have a vital function in the team for maintaining the current system and building up a new platform for License and Authorization management.
This new platform is based on an event driven architecture and consists of multiple microservices. The infrastructure is all cloud-based, hosted on Amazon Web Services.

– You will pair with the developers in the team for reviewing the code changes for the platform, improving the development lifecycle, setting up (automated) tests in all test levels, CI-CD, performance testing and releasing the application.

– Together with the Service Engineer of the team, you will coordinate the yearly security test of the D&T system. As part of the role you will also participate in the yearly Dutch chain tests for the Educational Content Chain. These tests are performed in collaboration with external testers working for logistic partners.

Requirements

Must-have requirements:
• Senior level knowledge on testing and the test automation pyramid
• Proven experience in setting up and maintaining test automation projects
• Knowledge from Test frameworks such as Fitnesse/Xebium, Selenium, Protractor, Cucumber, Karma, Junit
• Proven knowledge in API testing
• Knowledge on SQL and databases (Postgres, MySQL)
• Programming skills & the ability to read and review code
• Preferably: Java & Typescript
• Experience with cloud-based infrastructure (preferably AWS)
• Experience with Docker and preferably Kubernetes
• Ability to work well in an Agile environment
• Excellent team player
• Very good problem solving and analytical skills
• Good communicator among team members

Nice-to-have requirements:
• Knowledge of Spring Boot and Angular
• Knowledge of the Atlassian stack (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket)
• Experience with Datadog or other observability tools
• Experience in performance testing
• Experience in security testing
